Today we are announcing our $11M seed round, led by General Catalyst, with participation from Vendep Capital, True, Liquid2, SV Angel, Ritual Capital, Founders Future, Gharage, Robinhood Ventures, and Y Combinator. It brings together the investors who backed us at pre-seed and a new group of partners who share our conviction that product compliance is about to become one of the defining infrastructure layers of global commerce.

Why compliance is breaking

People are buying more physical products than ever, from more places than ever. Every one of those products has to satisfy the rules of the market it lands in, and every market checks product safety differently.

In Europe alone, the General Product Safety Regulation, REACH, and the upcoming Digital Product Passport are rewriting what retailers and brands must know and prove about the products they sell. Enforcement is catching up too. Regulators are pulling record numbers of products off the shelves and handing out fines that run into the hundreds of millions.

One untested batch. One missing certificate. One supplier that cut corners. That is all it takes, and even the largest companies in the world get it wrong.

Meanwhile, most compliance teams are still running this work in spreadsheets, shared drives, and email threads with suppliers. The rules have scaled. The tooling has not.

What we have built

Complir is the AI platform for product compliance. We help retailers and brands prove that what they sell is safe, in every market they sell in.

The platform follows a product from the moment it is born until it is ready for market. It ingests product data and documents from PIM, PLM, and supplier systems, classifies each product and identifies the regulations and standards that apply, runs a risk assessment built directly on that classification, and turns the result into a concrete compliance checklist per market. From there it generates Declarations of Conformity, manages labeling and translations, retrieves missing documentation from suppliers, and answers questions through an AI assistant grounded in your own products and documents rather than generic regulatory text.

Some of Europe's leading retailers and brands already run their compliance work on Complir, across toys, cosmetics, textiles, electronics, and home goods.

We describe the outcome simply: launch compliant products without the bottleneck.

How we got here

The Complir team in CopenhagenThe Complir team in Copenhagen

Two years ago we were three people with a problem we could not stop thinking about. We built the first version of Complir from inside our customers' teams, working alongside the compliance and sustainability people who live with this problem every day. That is where the product came from, and it is why it works the way compliance teams actually work.

In 2025 we raised a €1.7M pre-seed led by Vendep Capital. This spring we took Complir through Y Combinator in San Francisco. Along the way the team has grown from three founders to a group of compliance experts, AI engineers, designers, and go-to-market people who are, frankly, unusually obsessed with product safety.

What the funding is for

The problem is global, so the team solving it has to be too. This round lets us do three things.

First, expand regulatory coverage. Every new market and product category we add is another place our customers can sell without waiting weeks for compliance clearance.

Second, grow across Europe. We are building out local presence in new markets alongside our existing teams, and opening conversations with retailers and brands further afield.

Third, hire. We are recruiting engineers, compliance experts, designers, hackers, and GTM people across Europe. If you want to build the compliance infrastructure every retailer and brand will run on, we would like to hear from you.

To our customers: thank you for trusting us with work that matters this much. To our new and existing investors: thank you for backing a team that decided regulatory compliance was worth getting obsessed about.

Let's make physical products safer.
